Business Excellence Awards

The Business Leader Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of their enterprises, whose achievements can be measured by company sales growth, profitability or technological advances. A person who has exerted significant influence beyond the local area, including creating a positive image for NWI as a business center. The prospective business person has a reputation for integrity, fairness and ethical conduct and who has played an active role in civic, cultural, educational or charitable activity.

The Business Success award recognizes the business for it’s operations, products and services, growth and response to adversity. They should have unique aspects of their business, such as enhanced services for customers, workplace flexibility initiatives, logistics adjustments and/or expansion efforts.

A business that has proven record of generosity and has demonstrated out-standing civic and philanthropic responsibility within the community.

The volunteer of the year candidate is dedicated and passionate about their role as a volunteer in the community. They exemplify a person who is always willing to assist and be involved when needed.

Businesses eligible for this award include companies that have been in business for 30 plus years. The award recognizes staying power, longevity, the ability to adjust to the changing economic climate and company growth.

The Minority Business Award recognizes a business that is 51% minority owned, operated and controlled. 

To be considered for this award, highlight the organization’s services, fundraising efforts and ability to inspire and engage volunteers in the community.

This award recognizes an employee for their outstanding contributions and rapid advancement within their organization. The recipient has demonstrated exceptional skills, dedication, and potential for leadership early in their career. The reward reflects their capacity to make a significant impact, contribute to the company's success, and serve as an inspiration to their colleagues.

To be considered a young entrepreneur, the individual must serve as majority owner and operate or bear principal responsibility for operation a small business with at least a two year track record and who is 40 or under.
