Our chamber committees are the heartbeat of everything we do—from planning signature events to driving workforce initiatives and advocating for our business community. Joining a committee is one of the most impactful ways to get involved, build connections, and make your membership work for you.
AMBASSADORS COMMITTEE
MEETS 2ND WENDESDAY OF THE MONTH
9am - 10am | YEAR-ROUND
The Ambassadors are the friendly faces of the chamber. This committee promotes the chamber by attending Ribbon Cuttings, Business After Hours, and other community events. Members assist with public relations, new member recruitment, and volunteer at chamber events to ensure guests feel welcomed and engaged.
CORN ROAST COMMITTEE
MEETS 3RD WENDESDAY OF THE MONTH
8:30AM - 9:30AM | January - June
This committee helps bring one of our most popular summer traditions to life! Held the first weekend in June, the Corn Roast is a two-day community festival. Committee members help secure sponsorships, schedule entertainment, and recruit and coordinate volunteers to serve in the beer garden.
EXPO Committee
MEETS 1ST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
9AM - 10AM | September - June
Focused on planning the annual Business Expo held in May, this committee selects the event theme and venue, helps secure sponsorships, and chooses a dynamic keynote speaker. Their goal is to create an impactful event that connects businesses and showcases local services and innovation.
Gala Committee
MEETS 1ST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
12pm - 1pm | Year-ROUND
From December through March, this committee promotes the Business Excellence Awards, celebrating outstanding community leaders and organizations. From March through December, the focus shifts to planning our biggest fundraiser of the year—our Annual Gala held in November. Committee members help select the theme, coordinate decorations, entertainment, secure sponsorships, and organize the silent auction.
Golf Outing Committee
MEETS 3RD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH
9:30am - 10:30am | January - July
This committee brings together business and fun for the chamber’s annual Golf Scramble held each July at a local chamber-member course. Members help coordinate sponsorships, prizes, and the day’s schedule, making sure everything—from check-in to awards—is a hole-in-one.
VOICE OF BUSINESS Committee
MEETS 4th Wednesday OF THE MONTH
8am - 9am | Year-Round
Acting as a liaison between the chamber and legislative updates from Indianapolis, this committee helps keep our members informed. It also sets the speaker schedule and sponsorships for Coffee, Community & Connections events. This year, the committee launched the “Ask the Experts” virtual webinar series, held on the second Wednesday of each month.
Women in Leadership Development (wild) COMMITTEE
MEETS 1st Wednesday OF THE MONTH
8:30am - 9:30am | Year-Round
Empowering and uplifting women all over Northwest Indiana, this committee helps plan the annual Women’s Brunch in November by coordinating speakers and sponsorships. It also supports initiatives like mentoring female-owned businesses and curating creative, community-building events—such as the “Sundresses and Sangria Soiree” held in June.
Work Ready Committee
MEETS 3RD Thursday OF THE MONTH
8:00am - 9:00am | Year-Round
The Work Ready Committee plays a vital role in strengthening our region’s workforce and education ecosystem, recognizing its importance in driving long-term economic prosperity. Through strategic investments and collaborative partnerships, the committee supports programs that build a resilient talent pipeline, align education with workforce needs, and promote business growth through talent attraction and retention.
