HOBART, Ind. — The Hobart Redevelopment Commission is accepting applications for the Educational & Workforce Readiness Grant Program. Applications must be submitted by 12 p.m. CT, Monday, November 2, 2026.
A total of $50,000 is available through the grant program. Applications may be completed online through the City of Hobart’s CivicServe portal at hobartin.civicserve.com. Applicants with questions about the grant or application process may contact Community Development Coordinator Kate McGill at km*****@**********rt.org.
“Building a strong workforce is paramount to the future of our community,” Mayor Josh Huddlestun said. “This grant demonstrates the City of Hobart’s commitment to investing in people and helping build the skilled workforce our community and local employers will rely on for years to come.”
The grant supports educational and career-readiness initiatives that help participants build skills, pursue training and prepare for continued education and high-demand careers.
“This funding gives local organizations an opportunity to expand access, strengthen career pathways and create more meaningful connections between education and the workforce,” Community Development Coordinator Kate McGill said. “By investing in these opportunities locally, we can help give participants more ways to build practical skills and take their next step with greater preparation and confidence.”
Eligible applicants may include individuals, businesses and organizations whose principal functions align with education, workforce training, worker retraining or other initiatives designed to prepare individuals to participate in the competitive and global economy, as provided under Indiana Code § 36-7-25-7.
Applicants are asked to identify the industry or career pathway their proposal addresses and explain the technical, academic or essential skills participants will develop. Applications also request information about measurable outcomes, including applicable goals for industry-recognized certifications, dual credit and continued post-secondary education or training.
Those applying must describe how program results will be measured and identify any partner organizations involved. When applicable, applications may include information about businesses providing resources, mentorships, internships, guest speakers or job shadowing opportunities related to the proposed initiative.
Grant funding is reimbursement-based. An agreement with the Hobart Redevelopment Commission must be fully executed before grant-funded expenses are incurred. Recipients are required to provide quarterly documentation of progress and a final written report summarizing outcomes.
