GARY, INDIANA, June 13, 2026 — More than a fundraiser, the Methodist Hospitals Foundation Gala was a celebration of compassion, community, and the power of generosity. Held June 13 at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, the event brought together supporters, caregivers, community leaders, and philanthropists united by a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of Northwest Indiana

The evening focused on patients facing health challenges, families navigating difficult journeys, caregivers providing comfort and expertise, and the generous donors whose support makes extraordinary care possible. Throughout the program, guests were reminded that healthcare is ultimately about people and that philanthropy helps Methodist Hospitals meet individuals and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

“This community understands that healthcare is about people,” said Matt Doyle, President and CEO of Methodist Hospitals. “Every act of generosity helps create opportunities that strengthen patient care, support our healthcare teams, and improve health outcomes throughout the region.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Methodist Hospitals Foundation Champion Medal to Mr. F. Richey Eibel, recognizing his remarkable 53 years of volunteer service and leadership at Methodist Hospitals. Throughout more than five decades, Mr. Eibel has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the hospital’s mission, supporting patients and caregivers, and strengthening the communities Methodist Hospitals serves. The Champion Medal honors individuals whose dedication, generosity, and leadership embody the values and mission of Methodist Hospitals and inspire others through a lifetime of service.

The gala also celebrated the physicians, nurses, caregivers, employees, volunteers, and community partners who make Methodist Hospitals a trusted source of care and compassion.

The community’s response was extraordinary, raising $333,176 to support Methodist Hospitals’ mission of caring for patients and strengthening communities throughout Northwest Indiana. Funds raised through the gala will support patient care programs, caregiver resources, community health initiatives, and other priorities that advance Methodist Hospitals’ mission across the region.

“Tonight was never just about dollars raised,” said Celina A. Weatherwax, Executive Director of the Methodist Hospitals Foundation. “It was about the people behind every gift and every story. It was about patients receiving care when they need it most, families finding hope during difficult moments, and a community coming together to ensure that exceptional healthcare remains available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.”

The Methodist Hospitals Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to every donor, sponsor, volunteer, physician, employee, board member, and community leader who contributed to the success of the evening. Their support demonstrates the remarkable impact that can be achieved when a community rallies around a shared purpose

Through the generosity of its supporters, Methodist Hospitals will continue to provide hope, healing, and compassionate care to the communities it serves
