Munster, IN – May 2025 – Summer is right around the corner, and Humane Indiana is offering animal-themed day camp sessions all summer long for children ages 6-11. All camps run daily Monday – Friday from 9am – 2pm at the Shelter and Adoption Center located at 421 45th St. in Munster. The cost for a week of camp is $175 per camper.
The first camp session begins the week of June 9th, and sessions will continue every other week through August 8th. With camp themes covering a wide array of pet and animal topics, campers will have the opportunity to learn about everything from the care & keeping of pets to the various kinds of animal professions they can explore in their futures!
“The summer camps we host each year are always such enriching experiences – for both our campers and our staff!” shares Jessica Petalas, Senior Director – Shelter & Clinic Operations. “It’s always so rewarding to engage with the animal-loving youth in our community – these kids are our future animal welfare advocates and it’s important to provide these types of fun and educational opportunities for them. I’m proud that Humane Indiana offers such experiences!”
Families and individuals interested in registering their children for camp sessions can do so at www.humaneindiana.org/events by selecting the desired camp week on the events calendar. This year, campers will have not one, but two opportunities to participate in the popular “Animal Art” camp session, as there are two weeks dedicated to this topic! This year’s camp themes are:
June 9 – 13: Animal Art
June 23 – 27: Our Favorite Pets
July 7 – 11: Pet Professionals
July 21 – 25: Pet Care Week
August 4 – 8: Animal Art
“At this time, all of our camp sessions still have available openings, but sessions fill up quickly, so now is the perfect time to sign up your kids,” says Lindsay Stirn-McAllister, Shelter Services Liaison. “There’s a lot of unique offerings in this year’s camp line-up, so the kids won’t want to miss out!”
