South Lake County – The Crown Point Community Foundation is thrilled to welcome Buffy D. Adams as its new Vice President of Philanthropy, a newly created role designed to expand the Foundation’s capacity to connect people who care to causes that matter.

Buffy brings more than two decades of nonprofit, corporate, and marketing leadership experience to the position. With a career spanning from international Bible ministry work in more than 77 countries to corporate banking leadership and high-profile marketing campaigns for major brands, she is known for her ability to build strong relationships and inspire people to create meaningful change.

“I love building relationships, sharing inspiring stories, and mobilizing resources to uplift communities and empower individuals,” said Buffy. “Fundraising isn’t just about securing dollars – it’s about igniting hope, fostering belonging, and co-creating a brighter future. I’m driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others and to help build a more compassionate, inclusive world right here in Northwest Indiana.”

Prior to joining CPCF, Buffy served in leadership positions at both women and youth-focused nonprofit organizations, and earlier as Vice President of Campus Banking for TCF National Bank. Her career foundation was built in marketing and communications, leading campaigns for iconic organizations including MTV, Comedy Central, Major League Soccer, The Chicago Bulls, Home Depot, and more.

Buffy is also a motivational speaker, author, and known as “The Official Hope Dealer,” encouraging people to live authentically while spreading inspiration and resilience through faith and positivity. Recognized as one of Northwest Indiana’s Most Influential Women in the “Up and Coming” Nonprofit category in 2023, Buffy is a graduate of Purdue University Calumet with a degree in Communications. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business and ministry.

“We are delighted to welcome Buffy to the Foundation’s leadership team,” said Mary Nielsen, President of the Crown Point Community Foundation. “Her passion for philanthropy and unique background will be invaluable as we continue to expand opportunities for donors and nonprofits to work together in shaping a stronger community.”

Buffy’s role will focus on deepening donor engagement, strengthening partnerships, and advancing the Foundation’s mission to build a brighter future for South Lake County.
