This Weekend, Humane Indiana Invites Community to Family-Friendly Wine & Wildlife Celebration and Debuts New “Coyote Coffee”

VALPARAISO, IN — Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Humane Indiana Wildlife invites the community to Wine & Wildlife on Sunday, July 26, from 11 am to 5 pm at Four Corners Winery in Valparaiso, featuring the debut of Coyote Coffee, a brand-new fundraising collaboration with local coffee roaster Beans of Hope LLC.

Set among the scenic grounds of Four Corners Winery, this family-friendly event offers guests of all ages the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day while supporting Humane Indiana’s Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center. Visitors can meet live wildlife ambassadors, learn about Indiana’s native wildlife, enjoy educational exhibits, children’s crafts, face painting, caricatures, local vendors, food, wine, and more.

Making its official debut at the event, Coyote Coffee is a playful new line of locally roasted coffees inspired by Indiana’s native wildlife. Created in partnership with Beans of Hope LLC, each blend celebrates one of Humane Indiana’s ambassador species with flavors and names that reflect their unique personalities.

Among the inaugural offerings are Willow’s Blend, inspired by Humane Indiana’s beloved coyote ambassador, Willow; Nutty by Nature, celebrating the energetic fox squirrel; and Graveyard Shift, a bold dark roast honoring one of nature’s most misunderstood but essential birds, the turkey vulture. Every bag purchased helps support the lifesaving work of Humane Indiana Wildlife.

“We’re always looking for creative ways to connect people with wildlife,” said Nicole Harmon, Senior Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education at Humane Indiana. “Coyote Coffee is a fun way for people to bring that connection home while directly supporting the thousands of wild animals that come through our rehabilitation center each year. We can’t wait to introduce these blends to the community.”

Guests will also have the opportunity to meet some of Humane Indiana’s ambassador animals and discover how the Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center provides lifesaving care to thousands of injured, orphaned, and displaced wild animals every year.

“Wine & Wildlife is quickly growing into one of our favorite events of the summer,” Harmon said. “We love connecting with the community and sharing our mission. So many people in Valparaiso have brought patients to our rehabilitation center. The city lies along a migratory pathway and preserves so many natural green spaces that residents frequently encounter wildlife. We’re grateful people know to call us when an animal needs help.”

Tina Welches, Owner of Beans of Hope, LLC is no stranger to the mission of Humane Indiana Wildlife. “I’ve called upon the Rehab Center several times in the last few years for help with baby birds and bats, to name a couple, and I wanted to find a way to give back,” said Welches. “Collaborating to promote and bring a more personal connection to the animals they have helped seems like a perfect venture. My goal is for more people to care about the animals that cross our paths every day, and if reminding them every time they make a cup of coffee will help, let’s get roasting!”

Humane Indiana’s Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center is the largest wildlife rehabilitation center in Indiana, serving more than 30 counties and providing lifesaving care to thousands of injured, orphaned, and displaced native wild animals annually, with the goal of returning healthy animals to their natural habitats.

Admission is $20 per vehicle, with a discounted rate of $15 per vehicle for vehicles including seniors and/or children under 12. Tickets will be available at the gate, and both cash and credit cards will be accepted.
