Northwest Indiana’s success has never been accidental. It is built by individuals and organizations who lead with purpose, invest in their communities, and quietly create lasting impact. While many of these leaders don’t seek recognition, acknowledging their work is essential to strengthening the Region as a whole.

That belief is what drives the Crossroads Chamber Business Excellence Awards.

Celebrating the People Behind Progress

Behind every thriving business, nonprofit, and community initiative is a story of leadership, resilience, and commitment. The Business Excellence Awards exist to bring those stories forward and shine a light on the people and organizations shaping Northwest Indiana’s future.

Now in its sixth year, the annual ceremony honors businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and individuals whose efforts enhance economic growth, innovation, and quality of life across the Region.

A Community-Driven Recognition Program

What sets the Business Excellence Awards apart is its community-focused approach.

Nominations are open to the public, allowing community members to recognize the leaders they see making a difference every day. This ensures that honorees are selected not only for their success, but for their real-world impact on employees, customers, and neighbors.

Each nomination submitted helps tell the story of Northwest Indiana’s leadership—one shaped by collaboration, service, and forward thinking.

Why Recognition Matters

Recognizing excellence goes beyond a single evening of celebration. It creates a ripple effect that benefits the entire Region by:

  • Reinforcing the values that drive strong communities

  • Encouraging continued leadership and innovation

  • Highlighting local success stories that inspire others

  • Strengthening connections between businesses, nonprofits, and residents

When leaders are recognized, it sends a clear message that Northwest Indiana values those who give back, lead with integrity, and work to improve the Region for everyone.

Honoring Excellence Across the Region

The Business Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievements across nine categories, reflecting the diverse ways individuals and organizations contribute to the Region’s success:

  • Business Leader

  • Business Success

  • Corporate Responsibility

  • Community Volunteer of the Year

  • Legacy

  • Minority Business

  • Non-Profit

  • Rising Star

  • Young Entrepreneur

Together, these categories highlight leadership at every level—from emerging professionals to longstanding community pillars.

Impact That Lasts Beyond the Ceremony

Past recipients often share that the recognition carries lasting significance. Being honored affirms years of dedication, strengthens community connections, and opens doors to new opportunities. Most importantly, it reminds leaders that their work matters—and that their community sees them.

As one past honoree noted, the awards serve as a reminder that hard work, community support, and staying true to one’s mission truly make a difference.

Your Role in Shaping the Future

Every nomination is an opportunity to elevate a story that deserves to be told. By participating in the nomination process, community members help define what excellence looks like in Northwest Indiana and ensure that impactful leaders receive the recognition they deserve.

The 6th Annual Business Excellence Awards Ceremony will take place on March 12, 2026, at the Dean and Barbara White Center. Winners will be announced at the event.

Nominations are now open through the Crossroads Chamber website.
